A Clearer View Underground: JMAR in Action

Just-measure has completed its latest field assignment using JMAR (Just Measure Robotics), a new method for creating a vertical nitrate profile in a groundwater well. Instead of relying on just a manual top and bottom sample of the water, JMAR measured the nitrate concentration (3 measurements per metre) electronically all the way down and up through the well, providing a much more detailed picture of how nitrate levels change with depth.  It is this level of detail that makes JMAR useful in practice when the water utility needs to find the best quality drinking water. Just-measure works hard with each assignment to create detailed report documentation that lays out the results and applications of each study, making them practical and usable for our clients. With reports like these, waterworks can see exactly where nitrate enters a well, which means filter pipes can be placed more accurately, unwanted nitrate can be kept out of the intake, and wells can be designed to perform better from day one. The technology has already been tested independently in collaboration with the Danish Technological Institute, and this latest fieldwork shows that it works reliably under real working conditions and produces clear, high-quality data throughout the entire well profile.
